FWIW,he also mentions besides petroleum, many other minerals used in manufacturing are imported from all over the world as well. I tried explaining this to one of my dittohead coworkers that even if we offshore drilled and opened ANWR up, if the Asian economies like China and India outbid the American refiners for it, then it's going over there and not here.
The global demand curve is now pulling ahead of the global supply curve.

http://www.amazon.com/Gusher-Lies-Dangerous-Delusions-Independence/dp/1586483218john fhttp://johnfremont67@yahoo.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21516766.post-43709494024441559892011-04-27T07:57:02.490-05:002011-04-27T07:57:02.490-05:00Just google US Oil Exports. If more supply would lower prices shouldn't we stop exports????wncbw777https://www.blogger.com/profile/12058398480317549305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21516766.post-16437300037038488592011-04-27T07:50:39.055-05:002011-04-27T07:50:39.055-05:00Great post. Even Obama, who probably knows better, makes frequent pledges to "energy independence." The reality, that we cannot drill or mine our way to energy independence--even if it was done with complete abandon, is ignored in our political discourse. Americans need to understand that we have two possibilities: world recession and lower energy prices or a growing world economy and higher energy prices. Despite occasional green rhetoric, our energy policy is stuck in the 1950s.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
