I Say Juggalo, You Say ...WTF?

If you do not know Insane Clown Posse (ICP), the horrorcore hip hop duo, then you do not know of their followers/groupies/fans called Juggalos (the ladies are, appropriately, called Juggalettes). ICP has a very large and loyal following that sport their tattoos, scary clown makeup, and espouse the joys of Faygo pop.

Every year they assemble at the Gathering of the Juggalos. If you don't know, there's nothing I can do but show you. Truth be told, the actual volume of Faygo vs. Natty Light at the Gathering is up for debate.

Remember them being on Howard Stern quite a bit back in the day. They were always good for a laugh on that show, but I never could wrap my head around that 'music'.

Many years ago, as I was on my way home, I passed a record store with a long line of strangely dressed teens, some of whom were sporting odd masks or makeup jobs. I later found out that it was for an in-store Insane Clown Posse signing. It was then that I knew that the end begun so long ago with the first caveman clubbing his neighbor was now arriving at the denouement.

Sweet jeebus, I hate them all.

And... you are all correct! They are good for a laugh, signify the end, and make non-Juggalos erupt with hate.

I think watching that video triggers the same centers in my brain as watching Palin speak: unease, laughter, embarrassment, and sadness in one messy package.

I don't know who you are, and you don't know who I am. But, until you place judgement upon those who you never claim to have gotten to know personally, shut the hell up. I say that with all respect to you and the ones you have taken agreement with. We're one and the same. You made this blog to place judgement and I am the judged. So, I came to judgement on who you are, but I digress. You really should get your facts straight. "Juggalos" and "Juggalettes" are just another name for "brother" and "sister" in my terms. It's a way to show love to the people I relate with. I'm sure you may have "blood family", we just have friends that are closer than most even know and than most can even find. Look into the history of ICP and see what they went through to get where they are. The didn't even have a bottle of Coke to their name when they were living up in Detroit. They busted their butts to even get a record out and were screwed over more than a lot of people out in the world can even imagine. I look up to them because they lived the struggle, and they overcame it by reaching out to the world and telling everybody that they are good enough to be recognized. Everybody is. That includes you, me, and John Doe in a shack down in Alabama who eats hay for a living just to save money, because he has nothing to spare. I'm in a situation similar to that myself and I feel offended when you say "I" am a part of "the end of the world", No, I'm a new generation of people who has come to terms that I have nothing. But, ICP and all those Juggalo groups helped me realize that I am good enough to be somebody. I call that inspiration, and as far as I'm concerned, inspiration is what most people need now days. I almost killed myself until I heard ICP. They gave me a reason to live. They called me their brother, and I feel that I have more family than I ever did in my life before I heard them.

-Sincerely
Ryan Anderson

Ryan,

I applaud you in bettering yourself. The video I posted was an outrage of drunken foolishness. Not betterment. And if you feel at home with those people, that is a wonderful thing, but based on what I saw, it is a mind sink of "gettin' fucked up." Not betterment.

I, too, just about ended my life at one point and have the scars to show for it. And without the Juggalo support system pulled myself out of the mire and started my own business.

The video is something so foreign to me that it was worthy of exhibition. But if you're looking for brotherhood and purpose, feel free to hang around here as well. I can't promise you'll find the meaning of life, but I will kick your ass and tell you to do something meaningful.

Find not a group, but a personal purpose. A joy. Follow that. Share and rock it out with the Juggalos, but do it for YOU, not the band, not the music, not the movement.

For you.

Make yourself better. I don't even know you, but I know you can. Everyone can.

I don't judge. I am a Juggalo. I will not downgrade you. I will not abuse you. I will <3 you. I hope you see we are not all the same. I hope you know that we all don't do what you see in this video. I am Damon. and I am a PC

And <3 you back Damon. Not judging, just putting it up for exhibition. I'm glad to hear it is not a total representation of the fans. Unfortunately, it is the most publicized.
