In a shocking, glib bit of radio personal torture I caught on the way to the store today, Rush Limbaugh stated that what is going on in opposition to Obama is not only NOT racism but should be referred to as "Overwhelming Patriotism."
Apparently he was in a full-on Oxy coma during W's presidency.
The problem on this suggestion is that the right is discounting ANY accounts of racism by pointing to where it is not, or where it is invoked but not provable. Yesterday on Hannity's radio show, he had 2 black pundits, one calling racism, one saying the call for racism was BS. Unfortunately, the pundit calling racism did not have one solid example of a race-based attack on Obama.
Ooh! Ooh! I've got one! Barack the Magic Negro!
Young Turks hit it solidly from December. Undertone is lingering reality: Republicans do not understand what is funny.

great vid, somehow the young turks have flown under my radar for entertaining commentary...don't recall ever hearing of them...but eh gads a regular three hour program!
pray tell, how on earth did you happen to catch rush - actually, rhetorical question, years (20+) I would tune into his program to see what 'the other side' was 'thinking' but then realized doing so was undermining my sanity and blood pressure! god, he's been polluting american airwaves for a long time!

Amen kimy. I've been listening to the right solidly for a few years now (rush, beck, hannity, savage, levin, wilkow, locally cunningham). It is painful, but I'm always 3 days ahead of the mainstream media on the bullshit they promote. Horse's ass and all. I guess I should mean mouth. I do not.
